Maintenance and cleaning
Maintaining and cleaning your instrument is important to extend its life. Our advice is to service your instrument annually. In our workshop we have an ultrasonic cleaning bath. This bath is large enough for any instrument. Our experience has shown, that an ultrasonic cleaning bath cleans the instrument better, than a bath with stationary cleaning agent.
What is an Ultrasonic cleaning bath?
Ultrasonic cleaning is done by an ultrasonic machine, which uses high vibrations generated by a Piezo element. These vibrations (vibration) create tensile and compressive stresses. This creates vacuum bubbles in the ultrasonic bath, also called the cavitation effect. The detergent in the bath then loosens the contamination from the instrument or part.
The combination of an appropriate cleaning agent and the imploding of the vacuum bubbles ensures a perfectly cleaned instrument. In addition, even hard-to-reach surfaces are effortlessly cleaned with this cleaning method.
After your instrument has been in the ultrasonic bath, it is completely cleaned inside and out. This is especially an advantage for valve and cylinder work. All scale has been removed.
Servicing or maintenance service?
We distinguish between a maintenance service and a servicing service. A maintenance service focuses on cleaning and polishing, lubricating and oiling valve work and tubes, replacing outdated parts (corked, felted, springs etc at additional cost) and removing any dents (additional cost). During a service the instruments are checked mechanically so that tubes and valves function optimally again.
